Sandwavv (she/ they) is a queer Egyptian DJ based in Toronto, originally from Cairo, where she spent most of her life immersed in the region’s soundscape and cultural energy. Their sets reflect this lived experience — blending Arabic, gqom, Afro house, amapiano, and techno into a sound that’s deeply rhythmic, emotionally charged, and unapologetically diasporic. As the founder of Jinn&Juice, a queer Arab party series celebrating SWANA and Global South sounds, Sandwavv uses music as a tool for cultural reclamation, queer joy, and collective release.
