This man belongs to a new generation of multi-media artists. Heralding from Freiburg in Southern Germany, Jan managed and developed local clubs Kamikaze and Schmitz Katze. Some years ago, he moved to Berlin, painted a red stripe over his eyes and began to develop himself into a new artistic personality. He established art collective Ehret + Rath with his best friend, photographer Oliver Rath. Following Rath’s unexpected death, Jan became a solo artist. He exhibits his work in galleries all over Germany and is known for his remarkable DJ sets. Recently, he became resident DJ at KitKat Club in Berlin, one of the world’s most notorious hedonist clubs. In the last year, Jan released his single “Love, Sex, Industry” with music producer Sinan Mercenk, known around the world for his legendary project “My Fellow Citizens.” In collaboration with Canadian film director team Julia Patey and Rob Myers, Jan produced a music video for the track. The video was nominated in the Most Bizarre category at the Berlin Music Video Awards, next to nominees Trentemøller, Gorillaz, Coldplay ft. Beyoncè, Sido, DJ Shadow, Skrillex, Casper, Massive Attack, Samy Deluxe and Busy P.
