STICK — ARTIST BIOGRAPHY Stick began his journey as a DJ in 2009 alongside close friends in his hometown of Osaka, Japan. After starting his career as a member of 【D.O.T.】, he eventually shifted his focus toward his own path as an independent artist. Through his self-organized party 【Shadow Game】, he invited international artists to Japan and gradually built a unique network of friendships and musical connections across borders. Since the early days of his career, Stick has maintained a strong connection with Barcelona, Spain, eventually becoming part of 【Reversible Records】. He is also a member of Tokyo-based party organization 【0=Zero Production】, a collective of distinctive DJs representing a new generation of Japan’s underground scene, as well as 【Time and Space】, led by YUKI — a longtime brother and companion who has shared more than 20 years of his journey. In January 2021, Stick released “Junpei Crystal Co.” on 【Mosaico Records】, a collaboration born from friendship with Brazilian artist Sinestesia and his longtime ally DJ Lazzzy. Later that year, in August 2021, he released his first compilation album, “The Merry Gate” through 【Reversible Records】. The compilation was created with a deeply personal wish: May joy and good fortune continue to find the family and friends who have shared this journey with me. More than simply a compilation, “The Merry Gate” became an expression of gratitude toward the people and connections that have shaped Stick’s life and musical journey. Throughout his career, Stick has traveled across the world in pursuit of his own path as a DJ, performing at festivals, open-air parties and dance clubs in Germany, Thailand, Italy, France, South Africa and Australia. Different countries. Different cultures. Different dance floors. Each experience became another piece of his musical identity, continuously shaping his understanding of dance music and expanding his journey far beyond Japan. In 2023, searching for a new form of musical expression, Stick began exploring Techno with a strong focus on Psy Techno. He joined Spain-based emerging Techno label 【Mindscape Records】 and began a new chapter, combining the psychedelic sensibility developed throughout his career with the hypnotic groove and driving energy of Techno. In 2024, through a long-standing connection with the Italian scene, Stick became part of 【Merkaba Crew】, the collective behind 【Taurus Connection Festival】. Crossing borders between countries, cultures and genres, he continues to evolve his sound without limiting himself to a single definition. After more than 15 years behind the decks, Stick’s greatest strength lies in his ability to read the energy of the dance floor. He listens to its movement. He feels the dancers. And from that energy, he builds the groove. Rather than forcing the dance floor into a predetermined direction, Stick allows the energy coming back from the dancers to influence each selection, creating a constantly evolving conversation between DJ and floor. Funky and Groovy rhythms form the foundation of his sound, moving through deep, psychedelic territories before rising into moments of explosive energy. Years of experience across dance floors around the world have shaped an instinct that cannot be learned from music alone. It comes from time. From people. From countless nights on the dance floor. All of those experiences eventually merge into one Groove. A Play Style that cannot be defined by genre alone. “Reversible Sound.” The answer is on the dance floor. Experience the Reversible Sound.
