Mercury Prize Fringe Event: Tommy Caulker: A Life in Records (LISTENING SESSION)

These are both pay as you feel events to support the local music economy in the north east. The tickets on RA do not have a charge, they only secure your space and then you must pay on the door to gain entry. Limited to 25 spaces only. An intimate afternoon with Tommy Caulker, founder of World Headquarters and one of the key figures in Newcastle club culture. Tommy will spend two hours sharing records, stories and music from across his life, from formative discoveries through to the sounds that helped shape WHQ and his own approach to DJing. Limited to 25 spaces only, this is a rare chance to sit down, listen attentively and hear the stories behind the records that have shaped Newcastle's underground culture for over 30 years. As part of Newcastle City Council’s support for the Mercury Prize Fringe, every Fringe gig is Pay As You Feel - making incredible live music accessible to everyone. Every penny contributed goes directly back to the local venues hosting the programme, helping strengthen the spaces that keep our city’s music scene alive year-round.
