In 2009 wOnK was born in the UK. Founded by House Music Pioneer Danny Mekanik in the basement of a Kashmiri restaurant in Stafford. This inspired House music night has grown from strength to strength. Each pARTy is themed and our crowd always make the most of the opportunity to express themselves creatively. With music from the wOnK Family of DJ’s Danny Mekanik, Kelvin Andrews, Joey T and Ocean Spencer. You may have come across Kelvin and Danny as Soul Mekanik or in the past over their 30 plus year career to date, from one of their tracks under the names of Sure is Pure, Sound 5, Candy Flip, This Ain’t Chicago They have an extensive history as Producers and performers and have played between them all around the world. Now with almost 10 years of UK parties, 6 years of micro festivals in Wales and 4 years of AbunDanCe our community Party in the Park, we also took wOnK abroad to North Cyprus for 4 consecutive years of 7 - 10 day Wonk Cyprus Holistic Groove weeks offering pool parties, beach parties and a boat party along side a range of holistic activities from New Lisa Life Energy Arts and Art of Love providing balance to the party situation 📷 All these events have been beautifully captured with digital photography and video by the ever-so-talented Julie Lou and for the best part sonically engineered by Sims Audio Systems and their epic Funktion 1 sound 🎶 Quality is paramount in the production at Wonk! Now with this decade of Wonk experience under our belt on top of the previous 20 years experience in dance music and events, we have brought the party to Barcelona, whilst also continuing our parties in the UK.
