Emily (aka Mimsy) brings a passion and integrity to the booth that can only be described as pure; sharing music without any barriers. Her diverse and constantly expanding catalogue of music reflect a keen selector, but it is her roots in club culture and appreciation for the art of mixing that make her a formidable DJ. With her musical upbringing in Manchester (UK), a city known for its uncompromising attitude towards music, Emily has been immersed in the scene for many years and is now playing regularly in Barcelona, sharing booths with local legends and playing many bars, clubs and underground venues around the city. While Mimsy’s main love is house music, her unique love and respect for Italo disco has come to epitomise Mimsys’ sets, mixing music without limits or boundaries from her varied music collection. As a promoter Emily is involved in several projects, most notably in the form of flagship underground party ‘Wonk’ and their 10K sound system ‘Sirius Sound System’ with UK house pioneer Danny Mekanik. The project has saw her work with internationally renowned DJ’s and stalwarts of the local scene, creating experiences in different venues both in-and-out of the city including castles, masias and warehouses. She also runs her own night ‘Freakbeats’, collaborating with local female DJs and artists in Barcelona to create unique events.
