Vic Parker

A Canadian producer, DJ, vocalist and songwriter, Vic Parker creates immersive electronic music that moves between intimacy and impact. Drawing from UK bass music, sound-system culture, ambient composition and live vocal performance, her work combines textural layers with an instinct for the unexpected. Her live sets weave drum machines, field recordings, melodic fragments and original vocals into fluid, evolving performances, while her DJ sets lean towards a more charged expression of the same sensibility while moving through 140, garage, jungle and dnb. Before turning her focus towards electronic music, Parker was deeply involved with her practice as a singer-songwriter, notably with band Wet Denim, before she went on to produce solo projects including Forest Walks, The Best of Me, and Gloria. That history remains present in the melodic and vocal character of her work, where songwriting instincts meet the rhythmic possibilities of club music. Her recent single Reincarnated, released on Phantasy & Splendor, was originally composed for a dance company as the score to a solo dance piece. Its shifting structure moves from ambient and richly textured passages into melodic terrain before unfolding into a 160 think-break. The track captures Parker's wider practice: music in constant transformation, shaped equally by movement and atmosphere. Parker also champions underground electronic music through artist-led events and community building at a DIY arts space, The Warehouse, she manages in Whitehorse, Yukon.
