Col the Doctor

A producer, DJ, label manager, cultural organizer, oil-painter, and potter based in Canada’s Yukon, Colin Dorward has released music under aliases Col the Doctor, Colin Muir, and The Follower, with recordings appearing on Evel (Barcelona), EndTitles (Zurich), Concrete Collage (Lyon), and his own Phantasy & Splendor imprint. His production ranges from the club-oriented tracks of Charms EP, Day of the 2Step, Planet Bonk, and Bukit Jungle to his IDM-styled projects 3340 Music, fostexDubs, Interminstrel, and Waiting, Occurrence, Dissolve. His DJ and live sets span garage, dubstep, jungle, broken beat, minimal techno, jazz, and ambient experimentation, combining tightly produced selections with a free-form mixing style that invites experimentation and occasional train wrecks. Colin is also co-director of The Warehouse (Whitehorse), a grassroots arts space and cultural organization dedicated to supporting underrepresented and experimental forms of art and fostering community through gatherings and sound-system events.
