Veri Peri is a Miami-born, Chicago-raised Cuban-American DJ. Like zir identity as a queer femme, Veri Peri’s mixes don’t fit into a box. Zir mixes range from synthwave, Italo disco, darkwave, acid house, dark techno, and much more. While Veri Peri’s sets are characterized by a diverse blending of genres, zir mixes are unified by sensations of a dark, nostalgic, dream-like haze. Most recently, Veri Peri has been working to create spaces for queer femmes in Chicago’s DIY community through zir event brand, Elixir. Ze knows how hard to find spaces that prioritize sapphic love and femme-presenting people even within the queer community. Longing for more spaces likes this combined with a love for Chicago's DIY scene, diverse taste in music, and exploration of self-expression through fashion and dance, have all led to the creation of Elixir. Through Elixir, Veri Peri is working to create events for queer femmes across genres, styles, and themes, with every event being its own healing elixir. Let's alchemize.
