CR4CKROCK

Self-identifying as a Club Kid, CR4CKROCK mobilizes nightlife as both methodology and epistemological framework. Working across immersive installation, moving image, and sound, they construct environments in which identity is not simply represented but materially and affectively produced. These spaces destabilize fixed relations between audience and participant, transforming the gallery into a porous and contingent site that channels the affective intensity of the dancefloor, the intimacy of backrooms, and the fugitive architectures of queer and diasporic gathering. ​ Their film work engages with surveillance, objecthood, and the politics of looking, often positioning the camera as both witness and weapon. Notable works include Object Permanence (2025), which premiered in London as part of Trans Video Buffet and later screened at the 31st Annual Black Harvest Film Festival, and My Body Is An Object, The Camera Is A Gun (2025), presented at the Museum of Mix in Brooklyn. Parallel to their visual practice, CR4CKROCK maintains an active presence as a DJ within Brooklyn’s underground circuit, with performances at venues including Bossa Nova Civic Club, Rash, and Dead Letter No. 9. ​ Working across disciplines, CR4CKROCK constructs spaces that resist containment, inviting audiences to inhabit thresholds where performance, installation, and nightlife converge.
