szkoda (kasia piątkowska) is a producer and dj associated with the polish club underground. her music and sound art collaborations have been showcased at prestigious events such as sanatorium dźwięku, athens digital arts destival, and avangarden, as well as exhibited in warsaw, poznań, opole, sokołowsko, london, and athens. recently, her captivating live set "szkoda życia" was featured on kiosk radio. at the same time, her b2b session with hermeneia (as part of the REWIND radio show) was recognized as the mix of the week by keep hush. until 2020 she co-hosted the programme fuckcouture on warsaw's radio kapitał, now operates independently, closely following and supporting collective initiatives, particularly within the local scene. this year, she is set to release two EPs—one on the label tańce, and the other, a collaboration with mount terror, on zejście. szkoda's tracks can be found on notable compilations from collectives such as regime, lucyna records, and enjoy life, often under various pseudonyms. as a producer, she creates tunes-ecosystems, lined with powerful dubstep basslines and drums and full of constantly blooming and morphing noises and squeals; as a DJ, she can be a very eclectic selector, but UK bass music usually takes the front seat.
