Sebastian is a French-Canadian from Montreal who regards himself as belonging to this generation of composer-producer-performer who use the laptop as a musical instrument. This compositional tool allows him to develop his musical skills as much on stage as in the studio. Since 2015, the Ableton Push 2 and the Novation Launch Control XL impel his compositions and performance practice. His Ph.D. research investigated the use of spatialisation tools and techniques to enhance electronic dance music through an immersive sound experience. Sebastian works have a form and shape arising from pre-compositional and in-the-moment decisions, aiming at creating a sense of immersion within the concert space. Sebastian is a 2014 winner in the CEC’s annual JTTP project. This national association supports the work of Canadian-based young and emerging sound artists.
