Biografía
LA-based DJ and electronic music producer, Sim blends driving, heavy, and deep grooves to move bodies and connect minds. With a foundation in classical music through years of piano and choir, her attention to groove and storytelling through melody and rhythm shapes sets that are both technically precise and emotionally immersive. She explores the full range of techno and classic hardgroove, crafting performances that captivate both newcomers and seasoned listeners through percussive variation, layered textures, and long blends that build evolving energy, inviting listeners to find joy in movement and discovery within the mix.
She believes the dance floor should be a space centered on sound, connection, and collective release. Sim frequently plays for After Midnight LA and is involved in the warehouse scene in LA. She has also brought her sound to Underground in San Francisco and Bergerac, played at Yoon Festival, and opened for artists including Dr. Gabba and Masha Marr. She pulls influence from icons like Rhythm & Sound, Aphex Twin, Fela Kuti, Sade, Madlib, J Dilla, Moby, Chris Liebing, Tim Reaper, Vegyn, Gary Beck, Klubbheads, and Ben Sims.
Through hypnotic rhythm, evolving textures, and a deep focus on musical storytelling, Sim’s sets leave listeners inspired, moving, and deeply connected, creating moments that feel both timeless and transformative.
