Biografía

Giancarlo Renzi combines graphic design with audio engineering under the alias Raido. His recent output centers on what he terms "Eco Tek," a fusion of natural field recordings and high velocity club music. His percussion heavy tracks explore the tension between the organic and the synthetic. Drawing from genres like latincore, gqom, and techno, his productions typically operate in the 130 to 140 bpm range. This functional approach directly mirrors his visual work, which favors industrial and brutalist aesthetics over ornamentation. Raido's background includes living and performing in Mexico and Barcelona, Spain. During this time, he played Mexico's Festival Ceremonia and released the widely received track "Meant to Be" featuring Jesse Baez. Now operating out of New York, Raido balances solo production with leading visual systems for OHM, an Albany nonprofit dedicated to the electronic music and art. His recent catalog focuses on raw dancefloor mechanics, highlighted by his Eco-Tek EP on Boston label Body Method, the Devastation sounds release with Lisbon label Pollen, and "That's Hot",for the ETA45MINS RavePro compilation.
