Priestland (UK)
Biografía
His passion for music has led him through a journey across various styles and cities, starting in 2018 when he secured his first residency, supporting some of the biggest names in the bass scene. This residency opened doors to numerous bookings across the UK, including in his capital city of Cardiff, and even took him overseas for a summer residency in Ayia Napa.
Eager to expand his knowledge, Priestland joined the Lisa Lashes School of Music, where he had the opportunity to work closely with industry veterans, including Lisa herself. This experience allowed him to perfect his mixing skills and mentor other students, eventually leading him to volunteer at the school’s new Manchester location.
Alongside his studies, Priestland continued to build his career, landing his first headline show in Basel, Switzerland, with Subspace, and returning for another set just two months later. Back in Wales, he rekindled connections within the local scene, playing at festivals and hosting his own takeovers, including a room at the Day One event in the Buttermarket.
After relocating to the Midlands, he became a regular feature on local radio and secured a residency with the bass-driven Insider Events. Now based in London, Priestland has launched his own event brand while pursuing a degree in Music and has founded a DJ society at Kingston University to foster a community of aspiring artists. 2023 was another milestone year, with Priestland making his debut in Ibiza with Ibiza PlayAbout, and earning a residency on Data Transmission Radio.
Looking ahead, Priestland’s future is brighter than ever, with exciting new productions in the works and a calendar filled with gigs across the UK and abroad. His evolving style and ability to seamlessly blend genres have made him a standout in the electronic music scene, both in live performances and in the studio, where he’s been focused on developing original tracks set to release soon.
Priestland has also become an integral part of Ibiza PlayAbout, a groundbreaking concept that he has embraced from the very beginning. The project is designed to bring fresh talent to Ibiza’s iconic party scene, offering DJs the chance to showcase their skills in one of the world’s most famous dance music destinations.
After joining Ibiza PlayAbout in 2023 and making a strong impression, Priestland secured a coveted summer residency for 2024, where he played all season long. His connection with the island has only deepened, and he is set to return in 2025 with an even bigger presence, building on his previous experiences and solidifying his reputation as a key figure in the Ibiza scene.
In addition to his work with Ibiza PlayAbout, Priestland has made waves at Kingston University, where he founded the DJ Society. His goal was to create a vibrant community of students passionate about music, offering them a platform to connect, learn, and grow. Through workshops, networking opportunities, and events, the society has become a hub for aspiring DJs, allowing students to not only refine their skills but also perform live, and gain valuable industry experience.
Priestland’s leadership in this space has not only strengthened the university’s music culture but has also helped nurture the next generation of talent. With his dedication to pushing boundaries, both through his own artistry and his commitment to fostering a community of like-minded creatives, Priestland is truly a DJ on the rise, with a future that promises continued growth, exciting opportunities, and unforgettable performances.
