Obie Fernandez, a Cuban-American DJ/Producer born on the outskirts of New York City was raised on a steady diet of latin dance music, garage house, hip-hop and eighties pop/rock. He bought turntables with his own money the summer he turned 14 years old. It wasn’t too much longer before he was attending Frankie Bones raves and sneaking into clubs in NYC. Despite being a house-head, pizzicato synths and relentless beats hooked him on the euphoric german techno sound that would later be called trance. His myriad experiences in the rave scene since its earliest days made Obie a true believer in the transformative power of peace, love, unity and respect. He’s a non-stop evangelist for the underground scene wherever he goes. In Atlanta, his legendary house parties laid the foundation for the creation of Atlanta’s foremost underground trance promoter: Unity Events, a promoter that single-handedly restored the underground trance scene in Atlanta and has brought almost every significant trance artist to town over the last 5 years. In 2001, Obie started producing his own music under various aliases on an amateur basis and over the course of his life, concurrently with massive success in his entrepreneurial pursuits and as a bestselling author, Obie has continued to DJ, sometimes more, sometimes less, but never wavering in his dreams of becoming a world-class producer and sharing his music with the masses. In 2018 Obie was finally able to focus on music pursuits on a full-time basis. Obie has a slew of exciting major-label releases upcoming in 2019, and is currently one of the hottest up-and-coming electronic musicians in Mexico.
