Mucho Maas is a Sheffield-based DJ and host of ‘Love To Dance’, drawing on a deep-rooted love of movement-driven music. From early explorations in dubstep — supporting the likes of Shackleton and Cosmin TRG — to time spent playing in hardcore punk bands, his broad musical background shapes an open-minded, curious approach to DJing. Rooted in disco, funk and jazz, his sets embrace a loose “anything goes” philosophy, inspired by David Mancuso’s Loft parties and the communal energy of early dancefloors. Through ‘Love To Dance’, Mucho Maas channels the spirit of London’s early jazz-funk and Loft culture, building a dancer-focused community — complete with a dance lesson at the start of each night. A passionate head within the Sheffield music scene, Mucho Maas has played for Apricot Ballroom, Footprints Jazz Club, Funky Drummer and Grooveline, and hosts the monthly Open Soul show on Kitchen Radio.
