Material is a Chicago DJ making a name for themselves in the underground scene. A partner and co-resident with Darryn Jones at the elusive & lauded Durty Truth party, Material stays true to the Chicago tradition of djing - two turntables & a mixer. When they aren’t relentlessly digging through crates in Chicago, Material mixes together underground disco, funky soul, and raw Chicago house to create a sound that touches your body and soul on the dance floor. Material promoted and worked with Deon Jamar, Tone B Nimble, KC Wray, Ricardo Roessel, Dave Maze, Erica Kane, Garrett David, CTRLZORA & Tommaso at The Post in Chicago. They are also part of the Material Luv collection with Nosha Luv - a well loves Chicago party that have opened for Todd Terje & Gene Hunt at Smart Bar. They started the Durty Truth party with Darryn Jones which has become a staple of the underground scene in Chicago. Durty Truth has welcomed living legends such as Traxx, Mark Grusane, Sadar Bahar, Ge-Ology, Gene Hunt, & Rich Medina, and Yukiko. Material has been known to “beat the box.”
