Biografía
Martha is a DJ, presenter and sound artist from South London who broadcasts weekly on NTS. Martha set up Tempo in 2018, a run club for South London's creatives.
Also an accomplished radio producer and journalist, Martha has 5 years experience producing across BBC radio and has made audio documentaries for Tate, Resident Advisor and Sky Sports. Martha’s recent programmes have explored topics ranging from mental health in professional sport to Palestine’s techno scene, menstrual health alignment amongst athletes and musicians to the economics of electronic music.
Having dj’d at the Warehouse Project, Wireless Festival, Fabric, La Pascasia in Medellín and Cakeshop in Seoul, Martha went on to support Flohio, Pussy Riot and Kode9 at their headline shows.
Also an exhibiting sound artist, Martha was commissioned by the Laundry Arts Programme to interpret the relationship between sound and memory in an exhibition at Protein Studios, east London. In 2019, Martha debuted her collaborative work with choreographers, Igor & Moreno in their piece, BEAT in which Martha soundtracks contemporary dance with a live DJ set. BEAT continues to tour across Europe.
Martha set up Tempo in 2018, a community of aspiring dj's and musicians who run together. Tempo embodies Martha's relationship to music and sport; she is a long term collaborator of Nike. Not limited to a run club, Tempo has a radio show on female-led station Foundation FM, where Martha curates work-out music & ambient mixes for warm-down/meditation.
