Marcus Raute

Marcus Raute is a Naples-born producer, DJ and music enthusiast whose journey in electronic music spans over almost two decades. Deeply inspired by the house and deep house movements of the ’90s and 2000s, his music combines analog textures with modern production tools, often enriched with other genres elements. Marcus began his career performing as a DJ across Naples and throughout Italy before moving abroad. After a period in Berlin, he spent many years in London, immersing himself in the city’s underground circuit. He played at renowned venues including Egg London, Ministry of Sound, Lightbox, Shoreditch Platform and more, as well as numerous boat parties on the river Themes in collaboration with local collectives. He also appeared internationally in countries such as Switzerland and Norway. Since 2010, he has released a rich catalogue of music on respected labels such as Large Music, Plastic City, Small Great Things, Simma Black, Lapsus Music, Colour In Music, and a lot more, many of which were published both on vinyl and digital formats. His music have been played and supported by artist like Jimpster, Matt Master, Paul Hazeldonk, Kölsch, Low Steppa, Black Legend and many more. Along the way, from 2012 to 2013 Marcus also curated the music catalogue of Schatten Records, an independent imprint dedicated to darker shades of house and tech house. Between 2021 and 2024, Marcus hosted a monthly one-hour online radio slot on Manchester’s Real House Music Radio, showcasing the latest underground releases alongside his own productions. In 2024 Marcus appears on legendary Detroit based artist Abu Qadim's "33 Years of Techno Art and Afrofuturism" Book, a retrospective of Third Earth Visual Arts and the career of Abu Qadim Haqq who created art for Transmat, Drexciya and Underground Resistance. The book was also followed by a V.A. Compilation during the same year including music from Marcus himself. In 2025, after a three years break from releasing music, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Audio Production, Mixing, and Mastering in Electronic and Urban territories. Currently, Marcus is finalising his new studio, which will serve as a space for his own productions, a recording hub for artists, and a cultural laboratory for music and community. With a career defined by passion, experimentation, and authenticity, Marcus Raute continues to explore new sonic territories while staying true to the roots of house and deep house.
