After meeting for the first time, Kees and Willem instantly recognized each other’s passion for music. Their love for house, disco, jazz, and hip-hop served as a foundation for their friendship and, later on, for their musical partnership. The two music geeks try to push the envelope with their sound. This results in a sound that blends the essence of genres and eras they feel inspired by, while adding their own ideas to the mix. The result is an instantly recognizable, soulful electronic sound that sounds oddly familiar yet also fresh. The young musicians quickly garnered recognition in the Netherlands after dropping their debut EP, "Different Planets" (2019), on Heist Recordings. Fast forward a bit and the two released their first full-length album, "City of All" (2021), on the same label. While riding the wave of their success, the two also delivered EPs on the NYC imprint Let’s Play House. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as their tracks were remixed by critically acclaimed artists like Dego, Mr. G, and Orlando Voorn. Additionally, the two have had the honor of working on tracks from artists like Inner City, Folamour, and Nebraska. In the studio, the two are in perfect harmony. Willem is in charge of creating the soul-soothing chords and melodies that define the duo’s sound, while Kees brings the rhythm that provides a steady foundation for each track. Their distinct personalities not only blend seamlessly in the studio but also when playing live. Makèz masterfully balances entertaining and educating their audience. Everything from underground gems, their own home-crafted tracks, and dance floor bombs is mixed into their expertly executed sets.
