Lazy Susan aka Ellie Locke finds her musical inspiration from many places, but after a year of living, DJing and record shopping in Tokyo she’s found a unique sound. As a graduate from the first generation of FBi’s Dance Class program in 2015, she’s produced FBi’s Spin the Bottle program and is a member of Sydney record label Post Pluto. She’s supported various Sydney collectives at warehouse parties and club nights, such as Compound, Vibe Positive, Trench, Humenne and Charades. In the year spent in Tokyo she was lucky enough to play at Contact, Vent, Sankeys TYO and Circus, and supported the likes of Petar Dundov, Helena Hauff, Andrea Ferlin, Tijana T, Iori, SO, Satoshi Otsuki, Shintaro D, Chida, Dani Sevant, and South London Ordnance. Context is key – whether it be 110bpm broken beats at 2pm in the Australian bush, or pumping techno at 2am in a sizeable Tokyo club, her sound is highly percussive, melodic and textural.
