IKTAN

IKTAN is a Mexican DJ, producer, and sound engineer based in Montreal. He initially started as a hip-hop and R&B urban music producer after discovering music production at 15, developing early skills in beat-making and studio production before expanding into technical audio work. He later progressed into sound engineering and record production within the Montreal scene, working on recordings, mixing, and live sound for emerging artists, including acts such as Sofia Ly. This period consolidated his technical foundation and exposure to electronic music environments. Over time, his artistic direction shifted away from urban production toward underground electronic music, eventually focusing on techno and trance. By 2025, he transitioned fully into a techno-oriented career, prioritizing club-focused and electronic sets and productions. Alongside this shift, he co-founded Rooftop Records with other figures from the Montreal electronic scene, contributing to its development as a platform for techno and electronic releases and local event activity.
