Flamingo Pier
Biografía
Following their self-released debut, DJ residents Luke Walker, Dominic Jones and Brad Craig crafted 4 tracks influenced by boogie, afro and house. These were picked up by Soundway Records who released the Flamingo Pier EP in February 2019.
Slick, rolling disco synths and punchy drum machines are woven in with Afro-centric percussion and dreamy vocal chants, for an exotic disco-boogie journey from start to finish.
Garnering support from Gilles Peterson, The Black Madonna, Danny Krivit, Tim Sweeney, Optimo, Detroit Swindle, Bill Brewster and Session Victim the EP was released to coincide with the sold-out Flamingo Pier Waiheke festival on Waiheke Island, New Zealand in February 2019.
The collective debuted their 4-piece live show to open the main stage of the festival and closed the now legendary forest stage with a DJ set.
2019 has seen a return to London over summer to play festival and club shows while finishing their next release - the ‘Indigo’ EP, out on Soundway Records in February 2020. They’re also collaborating with legendary horn player Nathan Haines on a collection of house tracks.
