Dec_rim has been digging deep and moving dancefloors since the late '90s. Inspired by seeing legendary selectors Gilles Peterson and Mr. Scruff at Birmingham's iconic Custard Factory, he quickly became part of the city's thriving underground scene. By the early 2000s, he and his crew had taken over Room 2 before earning the chance to warm up the Main Room. From there, gigs across London, Liverpool and Bristol followed, alongside hometown residencies where he shared line-ups with the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Dave Lee (JN) and Burt Bevans. Proudly anti-algorithm, Dec_rim is a selector first and foremost. His sets weave effortlessly through Brazilian jazz-funk, soulful grooves, broken beat, disco, house and deep electronic cuts, guided by one rule above all else: if it's quality, it gets played. Today you'll find Dec_rim soundtracking Birmingham's creative corners, from Digbeth to Stirchley, blending exclusive edits, overlooked gems and tasteful classics into sets that are as eclectic as they are dancefloor-focused. The next chapter sees him launching Body Origami—a party dedicated to adventurous music, exceptional guests and celebrating Birmingham's vibrant underground culture. .
