CHEZ MOI

CHEZ MOI is a Tokyo-based DJ whose sets traverse the spaces between percussive house, techno, and rhythm-driven club music. Beginning his journey in Fukuoka in 2012 under the name SiN, he has cultivated a distinctive approach shaped by Afrobeats, Kwaito, Gqom, Baile Funk, UK Funky, and other percussive traditions. Rather than being defined by genre, his selections are driven by groove—layering organic rhythms and tribal textures into immersive, steadily evolving dancefloor experiences. Since relocating to Tokyo and adopting the name CHEZ MOI in 2019, he has continued to refine a sound that connects contemporary club music with global rhythmic influences. Alongside his work as a DJ, he is the founder of NUDGE, an independent party series dedicated to forward-thinking dance music and cross-cultural exchange. Outside of music, he works under the studio name NKCN as an art director and graphic designer, creating visual identities for artists, brands, and cultural projects. While distinct practices, both are informed by the same sensitivity to rhythm, balance, and atmosphere. Whether behind the decks or behind a visual identity, CHEZ MOI continues to explore how sound and design can shape meaningful experiences through rhythm, movement, and space. - 2012年、福岡にてSiN名義でDJ活動を開始。パーカッシヴなハウスやテクノを軸に、Afrobeats、Kwaito、Gqom、Baile Funk、UK Funkyなど世界各地のダンサブルな音楽を横断しながら、ジャンルではなくグルーヴを軸としたプレイスタイルを追求している。有機的なリズムとトライバルなグルーヴを織り交ぜ、ダンスフロアの空気とともに変化し続ける没入感のあるセットを特徴とする。 2019年にCHEZ MOIへ改名し、活動拠点を東京へ移す。現在は、グローバルなクラブミュージックと現代的なダンスミュージックを横断しながら、自身のサウンドを探求し続けている。 DJ活動と並行して、NKCN名義でアートディレクター／グラフィックデザイナーとしても活動。音楽、ファッション、カルチャーを中心に、ブランドやアーティストのビジュアルアイデンティティを手がけている。異なる表現領域でありながら、その両者にはリズム、構成、余白に対する感覚が通底している。 また、フォワードシンキングなクラブミュージックとカルチャーの交差点を目指すパーティシリーズ「NUDGE」を主宰。音と空間を通して、人と人、文化と文化が緩やかにつながる場を創り続けている。 音楽とデザイン、それぞれ異なる表現を通して、人の感覚をわずかに揺さぶる体験を探求し続けている。
