Born Elgin Reese II, the Indianapolis based DJ, producer, and creative entrepreneur has quickly become one of the city’s most recognizable figures in underground house music and queer nightlife. Known for his fearless personality, high energy sets, and community first mindset, 5LAPHOUSE has built a reputation for turning dance floors into spaces of liberation, expression, and culture. With over eight years behind the decks, 5LAPHOUSE has developed a signature style he proudly calls “Slap House” a bold fusion of house music, techno, hip-hop, Miami bass, Jersey club, and breakbeats. His sets are known for blending genres, speeding up tracks, and delivering an electrifying experience that keeps crowds moving all night. Beyond the sound itself, his music carries a deeper message: reminding audiences that house music was created by Black and queer communities and deserves to remain rooted in that culture. As one of the only openly Black gay male DJs playing house music in Indianapolis, he uses his platform to create spaces where people from all backgrounds especially LGBTQ+ creatives can feel seen, safe, and celebrated. One of his most impactful contributions to the city’s nightlife scene is Club Cunt, the underground dance party he founded in 2023. The event quickly gained attention for its raw, unapologetic energy and inclusive atmosphere.
