Seit 2019 bespielt das Projekt RFDINSEL den Kubus am Rennweg 4. In der Tradition eines Offspaces, in bester Innenstadtlage darf hier das Aufbrechen gewohnter Ausstellungskonzepte stattfinden. Das Programm von RFDINSEL setzt sich aus Ausstellungen der Gegenwartskunst, sowie der Nutzung des KUBUS durch Kulturvereine und Veranstalter*innen der freien Szene zusammen. Ein Fokus liegt dabei auf Kooperationen und gesellschaftlichen Themen. Formate wie Kunstausstellungen, Performancekunst, Literaturveranstaltungen, Vorträge, Panels oder Musikdarbietungen werden realisiert. Damit setzt RFDINSEL im Kulturquartier, das vorwiegend aus der Hochkultur zuzurechnenden Einrichtungen besteht, einen ergänzenden Gegenpol. Since 2019, the project RFDINSEL has been occupying the glass cube at Rennweg 4. In the tradition of an offspace, in a prime inner-city location, a break with the usual exhibition concepts is allowed to take place here. The programme of RFDINSEL consists of exhibitions of contemporary art as well as the use of the KUBUS by cultural associations and organisers of the independent scene. One focus is on cooperation and social themes. Formats such as art exhibitions, performance art, literary events, lectures, panels or music performances are realised. In this way, RFDINSEL provides a complementary counterpoint to the cultural quarter, which is predominantly made up of institutions associated with high culture.
