Province 44 truly begins as a student rebellion against the rigidness of Boston nightlife. Disappointed with the lack of opportunities for dancing and meeting new people, a group of untrammeled house-heads set out to create a party - a vision of what could be in a city where there is not. The brand is simple and the party is fun: House music for the youth. What are at first organized house parties become underground events in spaces all around the city. As word spreads, the need for a new club room in Boston becomes evident.
