Nantucket Lightship No. 112 is a decommissioned U.S. National Guard lighthouse ship. It protected sailors navigating the unpredictable and rapidly changing conditions on the Nantucket Shoals off of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. During WWII, Nantucket Lightship/LV-112 was rigged with weapons and commissioned for use as a combat military vehicle. NANTUCKET has been designated a National Historic Landmark for the United States of America. The floating museum possesses national significance in commemorating the history of the United States of America. The lightship does not sail or charter. It remains moored at the East Boston Marina as a museum and event venue that hosts both public and private events and offers unparalleled views of the Boston skyline and sunset from the sea.
