The 9-9bis, Oignies, is a former mining site, where coal was extracted between 1933 and 1990. It is now recognized as a part of the World Heritage Convention, as several other mining site in the Nord-Pas de Calais mining bassin. Old mining well and buildings are still preserved, and the site is now a project dedicated to musical practices and to heritage appreciation.
