Gabe’s Oasis was more than just a bar; it was THE bar. It was the one place in Iowa City where, no matter who you were, you could walk in and feel welcome. Sure, it was dirty. Sure, it smelled and the service was crappy. But for many, Gabe’s was a home away from home. The drinks were strong and held within it’s walls was a musical venue that managed to attract some of the biggest (and sometimes best) names in musical history (with the help of one of the best talent buyers in the tri-state area). Now, as Gabe's, we hope to carry on the tradition of the Gabe's of old. We plan to provide a great musical experience, as well as an affordable, friendly, and comfortable place to relax and hang out with friends and strangers alike. But, we can't tell you what Gabe's is like in every detail. You'll just have to come and find out for yourself.
