The "Queen Louise" Coal Mine was established in 1791 and was the enterprise that sparked the industrialization of Upper Silesia in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today, more than 200 years later, its importance to the community is once again on the rise—this time as a museum and a hub for electronic culture and art, thanks to the CARBON Silesia Festival, which has found its home in the unique industrial setting of the Queen Louise Adit in Zabrze.
