YOTO x Jamaica Hurricane Fundraiser Party

Descripción
When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica with full force at the end of October, it left a trail of destruction in its wake: over 30,000 people lost their homes, entire regions are still under water, hundreds of thousands are without electricity, and important infrastructure such as roads, schools, and hospitals has been severely damaged. The southwest in particular—for example, the St. Elizabeth region—continues to struggle with dramatic consequences.
In addition to the destroyed homes, there is a second, quieter danger: contaminated water. The massive flooding damaged drinking water systems, and diseases such as cholera, leptospirosis, diarrhea, and dengue fever threaten the population. Local aid organizations are working tirelessly, but in many places they are reaching their limits.
Now every form of support counts.
That's why Hamburg's TALAWAH and NORII have joined forces with representatives from the hip-hop, R&B, dancehall, and Afrobeats scenes to mobilize support:
On December 5, they are hosting the Jamaica Hurricane Fundraiser Party at YOTO — a night where community and culture come together to provide relief.
All participating artists are waiving their fees and donating them directly to the Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund of the Jamaican organization Food For The Poor, which has been active in the area for years and is currently providing vital emergency aid — from emergency shelters to food and drinking water to medical care. Donation boxes will also be available at the club to collect additional support.
The line-up for the night — TALAWAH, BILLY BAUNZ, NORII, CHRIS ICON, RICA STRONG — reflects the diversity of a scene that stands not only for music, but also for solidarity, international culture, and the ability to reach and move people.
Come by, dance with us, show solidarity — and help alleviate the suffering in Jamaica and provide urgently needed aid.
