-NIGELTHREETIMES- (from NY) musical journey is anything but linear. Like glass on a shattered bus stop, his influences start at the point of impact and branch outward in every direction possible. While rooted in the sounds of Queens, NY, where he was raised on Hip-Hop from hometown heroes The Beatnuts to A Tribe Called Quest, the jazz samples and dusty breaks didn't stop there. Hours spent behind an N64 controller and PlayStation DualShock opened up a 32 inch Toshiba sized world of 3D textures, bright colors, and OSTs that would eventually lead him to Jungle and Drum & Bass. When it was time to hang up the joysticks and clean his room, his mother would bathe the apartment with every rhythm under the 7 train from Merengue to House. Together, these early experiences laid the groundwork for a restless sound that has never been content to stay on one side of the tracks. Coming up in New York's 2000s underground, Nigel first made his name as rapper Nasty Nigel, working alongside his friends in Children of the Night and World's Fair. From in the cut Bushwick warehouses to downtown clubs, he moved between scenes, often sandwiched between rock bands, noise acts, adapting, and unlocking new branches in his very own JRPG skill tree. Between shows and tours, he took up DJing, stringing together sounds discovered on the road from major cities in the US to London, Berlin, and the rest of Europe. Since then, his presence on New York's club circuit(Nowadays, Public Records, Good Room) has grown through residencies on The Lot Radio, Rinse FM, alongside his involvement with The Level Party and The Pleasure Presents, a collaborative jazz-in-dance project with Maachew Bentley. Though NIGELTHREETIMES emerged as a production project in 2020 with CALL OF THE VOID, the story begins long before its first release. Across projects including METROPOLIS N(Astral Black), THE KISSENA BROADCAST(Magic City), and his 2025 release WHEN THE WORLD ENDS I'LL BE AT THE BAR AGAIN, his productions mirror his approach behind the decks : restless, referential, and unconcerned with the boundaries between genres. Jungle and Drum & Bass form a recurring character, but House, Techno, Downtempo, and Ambient all find their way into the cast. Rather than treating these influences as separate worlds, NIGELTHREETIMES pens a story between them, creating a sound that feels less like a road map and more like a transmission from somewhere just beyond our radar. 音楽の旅路は、決して一本道ではありません。破壊されたバス停のガラスのように、彼の受けた影響は衝撃の起点から始まり、あらゆる方向へと枝分かれしながら広がっています。 ニューヨークのクイーンズで育ち、地元が生んだヒーローであるザ・ビートナッツ（The Beatnuts）からア・トライブ・コールド・クエスト（A Tribe Called Quest）までのヒップホップを聴いて育ったため、彼のルーツはそのサウンドにあります。しかし、ジャズのサンプリングやダスティなブレイクビーツ（※レコードの擦り切れたような質感のビート）の探求は、そこだけに留まりませんでした。NINTENDO64のコントローラーやプレイステーションのデュアルショックを握り締めて過ごした何時間もの時間は、32インチの東芝製テレビのサイズに収まった、3Dのテクスチャや鮮やかな色彩、そして後に彼をジャングルやドラム＆ベースへと導くことになるオリジナルサウンドトラック（OST）の世界を切り開いたのです。 ジョイスティックを置いて部屋を片付ける時間になると、彼の母親は、メレンゲからハウスまで、高架を走る7番線（地下鉄）の沿線にあふれるあらゆるリズムでアパートを満たしました。これらの幼少期の体験が合わさり、一つの線路の側に留まることでは決して満足しない、絶え間なく変化し続けるサウンドの基礎が築かれたのです。 2000年代のニューヨークのアンダーグラウンド・シーンで頭角を現したナイジェル（Nigel）は、当初「ナスティ・ナイジェル（Nasty Nigel）」という名のラッパーとして名を馳せ、友人たちと共にチルドレン・オブ・ザ・ナイト（Children of the Night）やワールズ・フェア（World's Fair）で活動していました。 ブッシュウィックの隠れ家的な倉庫からダウンタウンのクラブまで、彼は様々なシーンを行き来し、時にはロックバンドやノイズ・ミュージックのアーティストに挟まれながらも、環境に適応し、まるで自分だけのJRPG（日本のRPG）のスキルツリーのように新たな分岐を解放していきました。ライブやツアーの合間に彼はDJを始め、アメリカの主要都市からロンドン、ベルリン、そしてその他のヨーロッパへと、旅先で出会ったサウンドを繋ぎ合わせていきました。それ以来、The Lot RadioやRinse FMでのレギュラー番組や、The Level Party、そしてマーチュー・ベントレー（Maachew Bentley）とのダンスミュージックの中のジャズをテーマにした共同プロジェクト「The Pleasure Presents」への参画を通じて、ニューヨークのクラブサーキット（Nowadays、Public Records、Good Roomなど）における彼の存在感は高まり続けています。 「NIGELTHREETIMES」としてのプロデュース・プロジェクトは、2020年の『CALL OF THE VOID』で本格的に始動したものの、その物語は最初のリリースよりも遥か前から始まっています。『METROPOLIS N』（Astral Black）、『THE KISSENA BROADCAST』（Magic City）、そして2025年のリリース『WHEN THE WORLD ENDS I'LL BE AT THE BAR AGAIN』といった作品群を通じて、彼の楽曲制作はDJブースに立つ時のアプローチをそのまま反映しています。それは、常に動き続け、様々なオマージュに溢れ、ジャンル間の境界線を気に留めないスタイルです。ジャングルやドラム＆ベースが繰り返し登場するメインキャラクターである一方で、ハウス、テクノ、ダウンテンポ、そしてアンビエントもすべてそのキャストに名を連ねています。これらの影響を別々の世界として扱うのではなく、NIGELTHREETIMESはその間に一つの物語を紡ぎ出し、ロードマップというよりも、私たちのレーダーのすぐ外側のどこかから届く「交信」のようなサウンドを作り出しているのです。
