Descripción

DJ Plant Texture is the project of Donato Basile, an Italian producer and DJ from Bari whose work bridges raw rhythmic architecture and emotional depth. Active since the early 2000s (also under Dona, A662 and DJ PT), he has carved out a distinctive sonic identity built on percussive intensity, textural grit and instinct- driven composition. Rooted in a background as a drummer, his production process is physical and hardware-led. The MPC remains central to his workflow, shaping tracks through live jams and real-time manipulation rather than meticulous grid programming. The result is a sound that feels urgent and alive — fusing techno, breakbeat, jungle, acid, footwork and ambient into tightly wound, high-impact structures. His catalog includes releases on forward-thinking labels such as Ilian Tape, Crème Organization and Tresor Records. In 2025, his Tresor debut EP Life marked a defining step, positioning him within the contemporary European techno landscape while revealing a more introspective dimension. The record balances classic floor functionality with melodic tension and psychological weight — reflecting themes of growth, anxiety and transformation. Beyond production, Basile was the founder of EXP Records (R.I.P.) in Bari, a record store that became a key node for Southern Italy’s underground community. This experience continues to inform his approach: respect for electronic music heritage combined with a constant push forward. On stage, DJ Plant Texture delivers sets that move between high-velocity rhythmic pressure and atmospheric depth, maintaining dancefloor impact without sacrificing narrative flow. His trajectory places him among the most compelling voices of Europe’s new-school underground — artistically credible, technically grounded and internationally ascending
