The titular “Rudded” A1 cut has a bass line you never want to stop and a delightfully maddening synth crunch squealing to psychotic ecstasy…it’s not too far off from some of the rolling minimal tech DOO records from the past few years. A2 “Zinc” brings a stomping, mineral techno funk. Some of the sounds are reminiscent of Acid Planet / Bunker Records, hardware torqued up and overflowing. The B side consists of “Why Do You”, a 12 minute masterclass in speedy, funky, groovy minimal techno. Heads have been waiting for this one!! Charlie Conway produces an eclectic range of hardware-based techno out of Nashville, Tennessee. Co-founder of the Nashville venue Disctrix (along with producers Blaine Mason, Redline, and power electronics outfit MiNDFOLD), he debuted live hardware performances in 2019, before culling a DJ style infused with inventive blends between midwest American techno, bright classic house, and experimental niches. A resident DJ and co-curator for the PHAASER and GUSTOparty series, Conway’s output includes tracks and remixes for Darkroom Bureau, Harmless Records, Clan Destine, Dreme Rotation, Softcore, and Limited Network. His exclusive mixes have released through Harmless Records, Minimal Detroit, Mutant Radio, Fixed Rhythms, Echo Recordings, and Voragine.
