With influences spanning disco, funk, UK garage, and house music, Chicago-based producer and DJ Monty Kiddo has quickly become one of the city's most respected and in-demand rising talents. Raised in a household filled with the sounds of country legends like Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, Monty forged his own musical path, discovering disco, funk, and UK garage—genres that would later shape his signature house sound. Although he began DJing in 2017, Monty spent the pandemic years refining his production skills and developing the sound that would fuel his emergence as a live performer in 2021. Originally performing under his legal name, Cody Kirby, his infectious energy, refined taste, and natural ability to connect with crowds quickly earned him opportunities alongside acclaimed artists such as Chromeo and SG Lewis. Armed with newfound experience and a clear artistic vision, Monty Kiddo was born—a new name carrying the same passion, charisma, and dancefloor-driven sound. Since then, he has rapidly established himself as one of Chicago's premier selectors, sharing stages with global acts including John Summit, ANOTR, Jungle, LF SYSTEM, Prunk, and Luuk Van Dijk. Beyond supporting some of the world's biggest dance music acts during their Chicago appearances, Monty is also a driving force behind the rapidly growing House Calls event series, which continues to build momentum throughout the city. His rise has been marked by major milestones, including selling out his debut headline show and securing a coveted main stage performance at Arc Music Festival, solidifying his status as one of the most exciting names emerging from Chicago's thriving house music scene.
