In honour of the Edinburgh College of Art’s 100 year old annual party being shut down by the university, we are continuing its legacy with its first rendition outside the walls of ECA. They might ask you to turn on your phones, they might crawl on the floor and scream. They create a space where sound becomes a source of collective power. The orchestra challenge stupidity, expose absurdity, and throw it directly in the audience’s face. One Pillow at Paradise Selenay Tektunali and Erin Ridgway are two flirty gorgeous intermedia artists. Erin did her Cameo Cinema Residency with her photography and performance. Selenay organised a performance evening with her Raging Orchestra at dissenter space. They dream of sharing their luck in love and lust with Edinburgh’s nightlife. Wear your sexiest outfit under the palm trees. samwooddoowmas samwooddoowmas is a musician and visual artist based in Edinburgh. He records out of a DIY studio held together with electrical tape. He makes sounds using a variety of techniques including tape loops, digital processing and analogue instrumentation. He is known for performing in unusual spaces (such as a urinal) and playing unusual instruments live, such as a bass guitar played by a bicycle. elseFly Oscar PM is a musician and artist operating under the moniker, elseFly. He makes rhythmically focussed electronic music where in-between melodies, harmonies and rhythms are made through a knot of improvisation, sampling, and modular synthesis techniques, both digital and analog. These same methods are adopted in generating simple digital animations and physical installations, where sound and visual are produced in lock-step, exploring the sincere and absurd meanings each can imply in the other. They like to work with techniques and ideas at the fringes of their understanding but is ultimately a sucker for a simple, sweet melody. Work and collaborations have been shown at Civic Room, Cento, GoMA, Baked Beans On The Doorstep and the 2025 Sound Festival with _void.
