The sound system’s coming back out! Saturday July 25th, we’re elated to bring back one of our favorite selectors… Russell E.L. Butler, joined by multi-faceted artist Abdu Mongo Ali and wax archaeologist Valentina. A change of pace from the warehouse, this one’s a special day into night affair from 6pm – Midnight. We will also be raising funds to support a Baltimore music community member with medical expenses from emergency surgery that has kept them unable to work for two months. 100% of our profits after paying artists will be donated (receipt provided). First playing Timbre Supply for us and Jacq Jill in 2024, Russell left a musical mark we still yearn to hear again. Originally born in Bermuda before moving to NYC, Russell E.L. Butler is a true sonic sculptor both in the studio and booth. Releasing three projects since 2024, Deep House for Lesbians, In Place of Words I Can’t Recall, and most recently (G). Their encyclopedic knowledge of music is consistently put on display not only behind the decks but in archiving Frankie Knuckle’s record collection and their expansive interview with Jeff Mills. Recently debuting a collaborative live project with Ali Berger, Missing Person Bureau is the next creative endeavor in Russell’s illustrious resume. Abdu Mongo Ali has made their name as an electronic musician, poet, cultural worker, and multidisciplinary artist. Their energetic visceral live shows have brought them to MoMa Ps1, The Carnegie Museum of Art, and The Kennedy Center to perform. Anointed as a cosmic, punk, and soulful tempest on stage, we cannot wait to experience Abdu’s energy through the system. Baltimore based Valentina is a vinyl Chicanx dj and organizer digging & spinning for over a decade.  This cosmic bruja will be sharing a sample of their evocative & left field record collection sure to keep us guessing what’s cued up next. They have guest sets featured on the Lot radio in New York, Kiosk Radio in Brussels and London based NTS. They are continuously researching music from across Latin & South America to share on their community radio show.
