ON THE HOUSE returns for its sixth edition on September 18, with a lineup that brings together some deep roots in Montréal's electronic music community and a very good reason to celebrate. The series is hosted by Cristobal Urbina & Trevor Kiernander, and this edition also marks Trevor's birthday. So naturally, we're celebrating the way we know best: with a full night on the dancefloor. Joining them are MightyKat, Billy Dalessandro and Mike Shannon. MightyKat is a veteran of Montréal's electronic scene, with more than two decades behind the decks. Drawing from jazz, disco and soul, her sound moves between eclectic house and the funkier edges of techno. She's also the force behind Purr, the long-running party series that became a fixture of Montréal summers. Billy Dalessandro brings a deep Chicago lineage to the night. A classically trained pianist and longtime electronic music producer, his work moves freely through acid, techno, experimental dub and melodic breakbeats. Now based in Montréal, Billy has released extensively internationally and remains deeply connected to the city's electronic music community. Mike Shannon has been shaping underground electronic music for more than two decades. Raised in Kitchener and influenced early on by the sounds of Detroit and Chicago, he went on to become an important figure in Canada's minimal house and techno movement. Founder of Cynosure and Haunt Recordings, his precise, stripped-back approach has left a lasting mark on the international underground. Cristobal Urbina, co-host of ON THE HOUSE, is a Chilean-born DJ and co-founder of Montréal's Fur Trade Recordings. His musical journey has moved through breakbeats, techno and house, gathering influences along the way from Chile, Ecuador, Brooklyn and Montréal. His sets are as eclectic and energetic as the places that shaped him. And then there's Trevor Kiernander, co-host, artist, curator, community-builder and birthday boy. A Montréal-based painter and DJ, Trevor's musical world stretches from jazz and cut-up hip-hop to techno, with the same focus on rhythm, movement and connection that runs through his visual work. Five selectors. Two hosts. One birthday. No hierarchy, no formula ... just five different perspectives coming together for one long night of music and movement.
