Co-founder of Ballet, a Brooklyn-based ambient/experimental entity that holds a residency at Public Records while also activating more unconventional spaces around Brooklyn, 320 opens the floor with delicate dub, textured deep-tech, deconstructed ambiences, and a well-trained ear for soft-touch immersive soundscape production. 320’s penchant for organic, ephemeral, evolving sound design resonates well with the work of Japanese heavyweight YAMARCHY, resident DJ and mastermind behind Tokyo club Mitsuki. Known for an astute blend of cosmic, Balearic, minimal house, atmospheric techno, and obscure vinyl esoterica, YAMARCHY could be described as a collector and selector of the ephemeral—of fleeting, unpredictable moments that unfold on the dancefloor—always prioritizing gradual energetic flux, extended narrative, and unexpected turns. Club fave Hank Jackson, anno records label boss and local heavyweight in the realm of hazy bizarro bangers, completes the evening’s trio. Known for productions and DJ sets that blend a vast spectrum of textures and affects, from swampy to sharp, from low-slung to tightly-wound, Jackson pulls outsider techno, sludgy electro, UKG, grime, glitch, and dub into sometimes whacky and oftentimes unexpectedly beautiful combinations and permutations. leelee, club alias of acclaimed bicoastal transdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, curator, and DJ Alima Lee, takes us into the morning with subtle yet undeniably powerful dancefloor selections that focus heavily on emotional subtext and affective release, blending high-energy club selections with deeply personal, atmospheric, and therapeutic textures informed by their multi-/anti-disciplinary artistic praxis. In addition to working across music video, video installation, sculpture, and multimedia visual art, Lee hosts the prominent NTS shows “Rave Reparations” and “RhythmDeep,” the latter being affiliated with the Akashik Records label she co-founded in 2015 with LA’s MNDSGN. Brazil’s Alírio, co-founder of Tandera Records and resident of São Paulo parties Mamba Negra, Versa, and Buero, spices things up as the day rolls forth, continuing the charge with a sensual energy and queer ethos developed during underground production work throwing parties, balls, and other queer cultural activities with the BAILE034 collective, promoting ballroom culture in their hometown of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Alirío’s sets eschew classically-cut musical genres to explore open-format femininity through sexy sidewinding beats equal parts complex and corporeal, always highlighting sounds produced by dissident Latin American artists. Ratcheting up the energy well past high noon, our journey ends with an extended b2b from Dutch-born Barcelona-based Afghan-Morrocan DJ mad miran and Amsterdam-based British techno force, R&S Records alum, and Voam co-founder Pariah. This dynamic pairing gains its energy and momentum from a shared commitment to genre-expansive dancefloor mechanics, with miran’s bag bending and blurring the lines between leftfield electro, raw breakbeat, intense IDM, and dubstep variants galore, and Pariah’s fast-paced, bass-heavy UK techno sound complemented by his collaborative, multi-genre production and performance work with Blawan under the live hardware moniker Karenn and the experimental/punk alias Persher. For example, if you buy a "10PM–4AM" ticket, you must get here between 10pm and 4am. After you've arrived during your designated time window, you can stay as long as you'd like, so long as you abide by our safer space policy (more on that below). You're also welcome to come and go as you please. Re-entry is based on capacity and is not guaranteed. Nonstop attendees can attend Mister Sunday in the backyard starting at 3 pm without buying a separate ticket, and Nonstop re-entry is honored during Mister Sunday. Violence, non-consensual touching, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ageist or other discriminatory language, and leering are not allowed within our walls or in our back yard. If someone says or does something to make you feel uncomfortable while you’re here, let us know. /// Accessibility: The wheelchair entrance to our indoor space is in the driveway, which is the access point most commonly used to enter Nowadays. During parties the driveway gate is locked, so please ask staff at the street entrance for assistance with entry. All of our bathrooms are gender-neutral. There is one accessible stall indoors. Just ask any Nowadays staff member for the key, and they can show you the way. During parties, seating is available both on and off the dance floor. While we don’t have a dedicated quiet space indoors during parties, the booths next to coat check are a little quieter, and the deck and back yard a little quieter than that. Most nighttime parties include the use of strobe lights and water based haze.
