Nightshade Records 001 Launch Party - Jay Tripwire / Kieran Jandu & Hugo Maher

Nightshade Records celebrates the launch of its debut release, Kieran Jandu & Hugo Maher – Dynamics EP [NSHR001], with an intimate in-store session at Manchester institution Eastern Bloc Records. ** Exclusive copies of the NSHR001 12” vinyl will be available to buy at the launch.** For the occasion, Nightshade welcomes Canadian underground heavyweight Jay Tripwire to Manchester as part of the UK leg of his tour. A fixture in underground house music for more than three decades, Tripwire emerged from Vancouver’s early 90s scene developing a distinctive fusion of deep house, Detroit-influenced techno, minimalism and hypnotic, bass-driven grooves. That approach placed him firmly within the foundations of the sound that became known as tech house. His relationship with the UK runs deep, from the formative years of the British tech house movement through to a long-standing history of appearances at Fabric. Across hundreds of records and decades behind the decks, Tripwire has remained committed to the deeper, stranger and more psychedelic edges of house and techno. With Eastern Bloc offering a far more intimate setting than the clubs and festivals an artist of his stature would usually appear in, this is a rare opportunity to experience Jay Tripwire up close in a small-capacity environment. That connection comes full circle on NSHR001, where Tripwire remixes the title track Dynamics, stretching the original into a 10-minute hardware-driven trip that occupies the full B-side of the record. Support comes from Nightshade Records founders Kieran Jandu & Hugo Maher, whose Dynamics EP marks the first transmission from the Manchester-based label. **JAY TRIPWIRE** **KIERAN JANDU** **HUGO MAHER** Friday 27 November 2026 Eastern Bloc Records, Manchester
