Maceo Plex - The Great Northern

On Friday November 13, The Great Northern welcomes an artist whose work connects the warmth of house, the weight of techno and the strange, synthetic pull of electro. Across his Maceo Plex, Maetrik and Mariel Ito projects, Eric Estornel has explored those connections from different angles. The thread is a taste for contrast: muscular rhythms and vulnerable melodies, familiar hooks in unfamiliar surroundings. Music with an emotional center and enough friction to keep things interesting. San Francisco, this is a Friday worth making plans around.
