JALAN JALAN A celebration of Indonesian culture through art, music and food. On the 21st of August, we bring the taste of Indonesian culture to Hackney. Nico's bar will be transformed into a vibrant 'pasar malam' (Indonesian market): expect snacks, vendors and music. Congklak Social Club (@congklaksocialclub) will be hosting a 'speed friending' corner, the perfect chance to meet new people while playing one of the oldest board games in the world. From 21:00 onwards there will be DJs who will take you on a sonic journey that spans across genres, showcasing sounds of Indonesia. Expect a fusion of Indonesian pop, disco, psychedelic rock, dangdut, breaks, remixes and more! While this event will celebrate Indonesian diaspora, it is open for everyone - and what's more - it's free entry all night!
