With roots in Wilmas and Long Beach CA, they were immersed in music and culture at a young age, and started drumming at the age of 4. Their background has inspired and shaped them into one of the most respected DJs in the Bay Area’s underground music community. They have played all around the country, opening up for icons like Honey Dijon. Brown Angel’s music ranges widely from their oldies upbringing to current electronic tracks. Their debut EP “PURE BROWN ENERGY” is now available on Dark Entries Records and all streaming platforms. ESPINA LETAL Carolina Arvizu, also known as Espina Letal, is a multi-media artist and open format DJ who spins a variety of Spanish & Latin sounds incorporating various layers of genres within her aesthetic and artistry as the main producer behind Nunca Siempre. As a long time resident DJ & Promoter for Global Based, the continuous lifelong passion within music and art comes deeply rooted within her Mexican & Indigenous identity. She has dedicated the past four years creating spaces for BIPOC of Portland within the cross cultures of underground cumbia, perreo, punk, goth, lowriders, queerness & drag incorporating all of these various dynamics many of those in the Pacific NW long for and crave which is a feeling of home. Being a part of an underground movement, dancing & performing is a form of medicine, healing, and a continuous journey of self love within self expression. + J.U.G.S.
