High Canopy returns to Moon club for the second instalment of Electro, Bass and Broken Techno mutations>>> High Canopy is extatic to bring Electro genius Carl Finlow to Bristol for the very first time - Playing LIVE. Carl’s name is synonymous with the Electro sound and beyond, releasing cutting edge music since the early 90’s. Born in Liverpool, from an early age Carl was listening to electronic music by the likes of Japanese hero Isao Tomita and since 1986 has been making his own music with computers. Involved early on with Ralph Lawson’s Back to Basics and 20:20 Vision label, he’s gone on to release on Warp, CPU, Cultivated Electronics, Craigie Knowes, Satamile NYC, Electrix and Novamute to name a few. He continues to refine and develop his signature style under a plethora of aliases including Silicon Scally, Voicestealer, Random Factor, Carbon Academy and many more. This man is an absolute dynamo with more than 150 releases and 100’s of remixes to his name for acclaimed artists such as Andrew Weatherall, Luke Slater, John Tejada, Thomas Heckmann and Eric Estornel. Since moving to France in 2002 he’s continued to produce a steady stream of outstanding EP’s and albums and has played live as far and wide as Tokyo, Moscow, New York and LA. This is a special chance to witness a live set from one of electronic music’s masters.  Ekata aka Jess Poole has carved out a unique space in the Electro world thanks to her raw and uncompromising releases on labels like Avoidant (Soma), Umwelt’s New Flesh records, and Fanzine, alongside laser focussed DJ mixes and sets on radio stations like Operator Radio, Science Cult and Bass Agenda. She’s performed at legendary venues such as TRESOR, FOLD, E1, Shambala Festival, About:Blank, Kilométre25, Fanzine Festival and Loone. She’s also part of long running night and label, Natural Selection which she’s resident alongside partner Kodah. Her set’s blur the lines between Electro, Acid, Techno and EBM taking on the darker, dystopian side of the electro diaspora in thrilling ways.  Playing b2b with Ekata is Kodah, the brainchild of Michael Silmon, who is also the Co-Founder of the long running night Natural Selection, which started in 2010 in Newcastle and is now found at FOLD in London. His night is dedicated to harder hitting electro, techno and IDM sounds and gives an insight into the kind of sonics Kodah presents in his sets. His label has released fearless records from producers such as Kamikaze Space Programme, Annie Hall, Versalife, Swarm Intelligence and more. A tireless selector, Kodah brings the same wide-ranging musical knowledge and passion for underground, hard-hitting electronics to his own productions on the label. Many years experience at the helm at NS have also seen him him perform at Tresor, About:Blank, Distillery and FOLD/UNFOLD and regularly around Berlin and London.  Arkist is the incredibly gifted production alias of Adam Galza, who’s wide ranging musical scope has taken in a number of genres from Post Dubstep and Bass music to Electro Funk and Dub Techno in the same breath, with aplomb. From early releases on Apple Pips, Hotflush and Deca to his excellent self released output, such as this years ‘The Backov’, Arkist let’s the soul and funk run through his music with dexterity and attention to detail in his refined productions. This extends to his DJ sets which take in a range of textures from Electro and Techno to UK Bass and Garage inflections, and have seen him play at Meadows in the Mountains, Free-rotation, Gotwood, and many more. Catch a rare set from the man.  Finally, Second Storey returns to High Canopy, with his own blend of forward thinking Electro, Bass, IDM and Techno. With releases on Houndstooth, Frustrated Funk, Trust, Nervous Horizon, Varvet, Ost-Gut-Ton, R+S and most recently his own imprint, which shares the same name.
