Following his first appearance last summer, we welcome him back to Eat Street Crossing on July 31 alongside our stacked support crew for a night of grooves in the city. --- For over a decade, Barcelona-born DJ and producer Bastian Bux has sought to construct a story with house music that winds fluidly through its subgenres. He's always maintained a philosophy that house music is universal, and its power lies within the abilities of those who can shape sonic clay into peak dancefloor moments. As a result, Bastian's freewheeling approach to creation and curation sees him breaking down the walls between funky, disco, minimal, and tech house, adopting an approach that recalls the OGs, whose only concern was telling a story and making people move. Even before his debut in 2015, he was cultivating sonics that pulled from a diverse universe of sound. Beit the memory of techno pounding through the walls of his sister's bedroom that first drew him to dance music or the technicolor explosions of confetti that spring from the stages of the venues he's played around the world as a resident of the wonderfully absurd Spanish party outfit elrow—these moments all serve as inspiration. A technical wizard, and worldbuilder behind the decks, he's dazzled dancers at some of the best clubs and festival, from Tomorrowland in Belgica to the glittery Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas and even the historic closing party at the legendary Space Ibiza. His eclectic approach has made him a sought-after producer who's been able to spread his sound through some of dance music's most revered labels, including Jamie Jones’ Hottrax, elrow Music, Loco Dice's Desolat, and of course, his own Neverendz. The diversity of his catalog is reflected in the broad range of artists who have supported his tracks, from the funky disco vibes of his collab with Baum, "About Us," to the hip-hop-tinged minimal tech of "Dear Club." Acts like The Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, Michael Bibi, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, and Joseph Capriati have featured Bastian's tunes in their mixes and sets on stages around the world.
