Grey Lantern presents: Maria BC / Sara Wolff

Grey Lantern presents Maria BC + support Sara Wolff live at YES Ohio-born, Oakland, CA-based artist Maria BC (they/them) has slowly opened up their process over the years, moving from the one-room recording process of 2021 EP Devil’s Rain—careful not to disturb their roommates or neighbors—to the untreated apartment wanderings of Hyaline (2022, Father/Daughter) to the home of a family friend featuring an out-of-tune baby Steinway piano where they recorded their Sacred Bones debut, Spike Field. Their latest record Marathon came out in 2026. Sara Wolff is a composer, songwriter and sound artist based in Liverpool. Her practice explores listening and noisemaking as ways of connecting people to place, memory and one another, moving between introspective and collective experience. This takes the form of composition, songwriting, storytelling, community practice and skill-sharing, performance, and visual experimentation.
