August 28 // Format X Paradox Limited Cap Vol. 2 Juan Evangelista comes from Córdoba, Argentina, where he founded the underground movement TCC in 2014 to push techno culture forward in a country with barely a scene to speak of. The years since took him through Buenos Aires and Barcelona to Berlin, where most of his time now goes into the studio, and it shows in the music. Rooted in 90s techno and the depths of ambient, his sound runs on dense, almost archaic rhythms with a groove built for the floor. Last year's Equilibrium EP on Tremsix, with a Jonas Kopp remix, captures it well. Raw, hypnotic, patient. circumscums and eRee hold down the rest of the night. Second one at this space. More coming.
